The GeneroCity513 Team is Hitting the Streets!

If you are driving downtown, you might see the new addition to the *GeneroCity513 team. In fact, it’s hard to miss it!

Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation (3CDC) recently purchased and wrapped a 2026 Toyota Corolla for the team to use. “We are excited to have this vehicle,” says Laura Allen, the Outreach Services Manager (who supervises the GeneroCity513 team for GCBHS). “This allows us to be more visible in the community and reach more people.”    

In the first six months of 2026 the team connected 168 people to housing.

For those who are not familiar with *GeneroCity513, the program launched in 2018 and focuses on connecting people downtown, who are experiencing homelessness, to social services including basic needs, as well as behavioral health treatment. The team consists of four Street Outreach staff and two case managers, and a seasonal outreach worker, who dedicate their time to clients with high level needs.

According to Laura, the team is already seeing the benefits. Although the vehicle just hit the streets a short time ago, more people are reaching out directly to the team because their contact information is prominently displayed in the design of the artwork. This is important because, “Now, people who need our help can reach out to us directly rather than waiting for our team to find them on the streets. Because outreach staff spend a significant amount of time locating people in need, this direct connection enables us to provide support more quickly.”

In the first half of 2026, GeneroCity513 staff connected with 788 people and linked 233 to services.

Laura is proud that 80-90% of those who exit the program, move on to a more stable living situation. “But,” she sighs, “although we are continually connecting people to housing and additional resources, many times the numbers of those unhoused remain unchanged – not because we aren’t reaching our goals, but because more people are losing their housing. So, we still have a lot of work to do.”
