Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services (GCBHS) is honored to once again have Doctors Tracey Skale and Katie Schmidt named to Cincy Magazine's end of 2022 Best Doctors list (see their profiles on page 42 of this month's Cincy Magazine). This is the third year that readers of Cincy Magazine have been asked to nominate their favorite doctors in 80 specialties, including psychiatry.
Dr. SKale is the Chief Medical Officer at #GCBHS and has been with our organization since 1993. Dr. Skale has dedicated her career to helping people with serious mental illness. She is a respected leader in the mental health community and a nationally recognized speaker on topics such as Schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder, Depression, and psychiatric illness. She is the lead psychiatrist for the GCBHS ACT, Homeless ACT and First Break Teams.
Tracey holds degrees in Neuroscience and Psychology from Amherst College and an MD from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
Dr. Katherine (Katie) Schmidt is the Medical Director at GCBHS overseeing our Opiate Treatment Program. She provides direct psychiatric care and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) in an outpatient setting to clients with mental health and substance use disorders.
Dr. Schmidt did her undergraduate work at the University of Cincinnati College of McMicken Arts & Sciences. She received her MD from Wright State School of Medicine and completed her residency in psychiatry at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
