How Can We Help
|
The Welcome Center: A place where everyone knows your name.
The Welcome Center is a place for clients to forget about the isolation of their mental illness and focus on exploring new relationships and life skills. It is a place to share a personal journey of recovery with peers who understand. A full calendar of activities provides opportunities for socialization as well as group sessions on such topics as: learning how to cook for one; gardening; developing personal wellness practices; managing money; exploring the world of work; or performing in GCB’s “Faces in the Crowd” to educate the community about the reality and stigma of mental illness from a very personal perspective. Peer Support Workers at The Welcome Center help foster a sense of community and recovery for clients. |
